Our bakery in Charlottenburg

Baklava that tastes like Antep.

In Gaziantep, baklava is more than a dessert. It is a craft passed down from master to apprentice. We have brought that knowledge to Kantstraße: our baklava is made to the recipes and standards of Sezai Usta, layer by layer and with a lot of patience.

We use only what belongs in real baklava: pistachios from Gaziantep, pure butter, a balanced syrup and pastry rolled by hand so thin you can almost see through it.

What goes into our baklava

Four ingredients, no compromises.

Antep pistachio

Bright green, fragrant and used generously: the pistachio from Gaziantep is the heart of almost every variety.

Pure butter

It turns the layers golden and crisp. We never use margarine or substitute fats.

Paper-thin yufka

Many layers, rolled out and stacked by hand until the pastry is almost see-through.

Light şerbet

The syrup goes on at just the right moment, so the baklava is sweet and moist but never heavy.

“You hear good baklava before you taste it: it crackles as you cut it.”

FAQ

Good to know about baklava.

How long does baklava keep?

Stored airtight and dry at room temperature, fresh baklava stays aromatic and crisp for about a week. Please do not put it in the fridge, where the pastry turns soft. The exception is Soğuk Baklava, which is kept and served chilled.

Can I take baklava away?

Yes. Every variety is available in our shop by weight to take away, beautifully packed in our emerald and gold gift box if you like.

Do I need to book a table?

No, you are always welcome. For groups or in the evening we recommend a quick reservation, online in seconds or by phone.

Which pistachios do you use?

We use Antep pistachios from Gaziantep. They are smaller and more aromatic than other varieties and give our baklava its typical green colour and intense flavour.

Where can I find allergen information?

Our menu lists the allergens for every item, and the key to the codes is at the end of the menu. Feel free to ask us directly at any time.

When are you open?

Monday to Friday from 7 am to midnight, Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to midnight. So you can always drop in for a late piece of baklava with Turkish tea.
